The current news stories about blockades and conflict in Mohawk communities sometimes give the impression that the status quo and Canadian presence on our land was at some point legitimate and agreed to, and that people are just now arguing against the illegal Canadian occupations. This 40 year-old NFB documentary (half hour long) shows how our communities have resisted all impositions all along, and that it is those who are advocating cooperation with Canadian authorities and business interests who are turning their back on the heritage of nationhood that all of our people, young and old, men and women, were committed to at one time, not so long ago.

I tried ordering this but site would not send the email coordinates to my email address. I was not surprised for some reason. The video clip i.e 38 mins is very good and damn some things have not changed other than the will from out people to continue the struggle. Today our frontnews talked about No to Nuclear Energy with about 750 people in attendance and chances are they are looking to set up shop in our lands and territories. - Darlene Rose Okemaysim
